By creating an account on Language Hub you accept these terms. If you disagree with anything written here, you may not use the service.
Language Hub is a web application that brings together, in one place, the tools for studying a language: spaced-repetition flashcards, reading aids, a writing journal, tracking of what you watch or listen to, voice recordings and consistency challenges.
It is a personal, independent project, built and maintained by one person, and it is provided «as is», for study purposes.
You are responsible for your password and for what happens under your account. When you register, the details you give us must be true.
You can delete your account whenever you want, yourself, from the settings: you do not have to ask anyone's permission and you do not owe us an explanation.
Today Language Hub is free. Access is governed by the licence type attached to your account, and the trial licence is granted at no cost and with no duration fixed by these terms.
The conditions of access may change in the future. If they change we will tell you first, with a new version of this document — and, as with every substantial change, you will be asked to accept it.
Whatever happens, what you created stays yours and you can take it away: on your account page there is a button that exports your data in a format other programs can read.
You can support the project with a donation. It is voluntary, and it buys nothing.
Specifically: it does not give you extra features, it does not give you a different licence, it does not give you priority over anyone, and it creates no obligation on our side towards you. People who donate and people who do not use exactly the same service.
Donations are handled by PayPal, they are not a purchase, and for that reason they carry no right to a refund. If you donated by mistake, write to me and we will sort it out between people.
There is no paid service, no subscription and no price. If one day there are, they will be written here before they exist.
Language Hub is mine: the code, the design, the interface and the name belong to Luigi Cantone and are protected by copyright law. © 2026 Luigi Cantone.
What you write is yours: flashcards, grammar notes, journal entries, recordings. By using the service you give us permission — limited and non-exclusive — to store it and show it back to you, for the sole purpose of making the application work for you. Nothing more.
You may not use Language Hub to break the law, to trample on someone else's copyright, to distribute harmful software, or to try to get into another person's account or into parts of the system that are none of your business.
The service is provided «as is», without warranties: it is free and maintained by one person in the time they have.
Luigi Cantone is not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the service, including loss of data — and that is why the export button in section 4 exists: use it. Regular backups are taken, but they are not a promise you can hold us to.
What this clause does not do. No limitation written here applies where the law does not allow liability to be limited — in particular wilful misconduct and gross negligence (Article 1229 of the Italian Civil Code) and personal injury. And it does not touch the rights the law gives consumers, which stand whole whatever this document says.
We do not guarantee that the service is always reachable. There is scheduled maintenance and there can be failures. As this is a free service, an interruption gives no right to any compensation.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, with or without notice depending on how serious it is.
You may close yours whenever you want, from the settings (section 3).
When we change them substantially, the next time you log in we show you the new text and ask you to accept it. The version number and the date shown on the page change together with the text.
We do not send emails about this: we tell you inside the app, where you are sure to see it.
These terms are governed by Italian law.
For disputes, the competent court is the one in Parma. If you are a consumer, however, this clause takes nothing away from you: your right to bring proceedings before the court of the place where you live, and all the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence in the European Union, remain intact.
This document exists in Italian and in English. In case of any discrepancy between the two texts, the Italian version prevails.
