v1.117.0
September 18, 2026
new
-
•
On the back of a card you can now write a sentence of your own with that word, using a grammar structure suggested from your own notes or from the language pack.
-
•
The last three stay on the card and come back with it at your next review; you can open them all from the sentences number in the deck row.
-
•
And a sentence you are not happy with can be corrected, or deleted, from the deck's sentence list.
v1.116.0
September 18, 2026
-
•
When you delete a project, its decks now go with it, along with the cards inside them.
-
•
Before, they stayed in the database with no page left that could open them.
v1.115.0
September 18, 2026
-
•
The number at the top of a project and on your dashboard now says how many cards you will study today: before, it counted every card in the deck, including the ones you had not started yet.
-
•
It is the same number you see next to «Study now» on each deck, and now the two match.
v1.114.0
September 18, 2026
-
•
The cards you always get wrong are now visible: next to your deck's numbers you see how many are over the threshold, and that opens their list.
-
•
From that list you set them aside whenever you want: they leave the review, they do not take another card's place, and one click brings them back exactly as they were.
-
•
While studying, a card you have been getting wrong for a while carries its own mark, and you can set it aside right there.
-
•
How many lapses it takes to flag a card is up to you, deck by deck: it starts at five.
v1.113.0
September 18, 2026
-
•
A deck's new cards per day now really means per day: before, closing and reopening study handed you just as many again.
-
•
The same goes for the reviews per day. Once you are done, the deck shows zero, and the counts start over at midnight.
v1.108.0
September 11, 2026
-
•
When you accept the legal documents we also record which browser you are using: we now delete it after 30 days, the same way we already shorten your IP address.
v1.107.0
September 11, 2026
-
•
The day counter next to your name is gone: it was counting down to an expiry that isn't there today.
-
•
If you are studying Italian, you will now find ready-made decks and notes too.
v1.105.0
September 9, 2026
-
•
When you select a word while writing, one tap now opens the dictionary in the side panel with that word already looked up: before, a small box appeared over your text, and it did not always land where it should.
-
•
And from that panel you can save the word as a flashcard with the meaning already on the back — before, you had to type the back yourself.
-
•
Writing in Japanese or Chinese always showed "1 word": the count now tells you how many characters you have written, which is how those languages are measured.
-
•
Zooming a PDF now actually makes the page bigger.
v1.103.0
September 9, 2026
-
•
Importing an Anki deck now takes three steps: first we tell you what is inside the file, then you choose which Anki field becomes the front, the back and the notes — and if you need a field you do not have, you create it right there — and at the end you see how the first cards will look. Nothing is written until you press the last button, and the choice between adding and replacing comes last, when you already know what you are adding.
-
•
Some recently exported Anki decks used to come in as a single card saying "update Anki". They are now read in full.
v1.102.0
September 8, 2026
-
•
The dictionary and your grammar notes are no longer two icons at the end of the toolbar: they now sit in a column beside the page, with their names, visible even when you are not using them. On a narrow screen they become a row above the text.
v1.100.0
September 8, 2026
-
•
In the journal list every entry now shows whether you have already corrected it, and one tap takes you there. That command used to appear only after opening the entry: anyone writing their first note could go without ever finding it.
-
•
You can record yourself reading aloud what you wrote, and also reading the corrected version — the one where you say the right sentence instead of your own. The recordings land in the Voice section, and from there you can get back to the journal entry they came from.
v1.92.0
September 5, 2026
-
•
When a challenge is running, the project page now tells you whether you have already logged today or not. Before it looked the same either way, and while you were studying nothing reminded you.
-
•
Inside the challenge, the day is split in two: on one side what the app has already seen — the cards you reviewed, the voice minutes, the media, the journal — on the other the two numbers only you know, the minutes you studied and the pages you read. If you never filled those two in, you could think you had done nothing: now you can see the rest was already counted.
-
•
At the end of a challenge, below the summary and separated by a line, there is one line asking whether you feel like helping keep the project going. One click takes it away and it does not come back. And if you do feel like it, now or in six months, the link is on your account page too.
v1.89.0
September 4, 2026
-
•
You can write to me from inside the app now: the “Write to me” entry in your name menu opens a window on top of the page you are on, so you do not lose your place. Two different things, one door: report something that is not working, or just write to me — an idea, a suggestion, content you made yourself.
-
•
If you report a problem I also send the page you were on, the version and the browser, so you do not have to type them out — and you see them before you send. If you are only writing to me, none of that is needed and none of it is sent.
-
•
How many messages you have left today is there the moment the window opens, not after you have written one.
v1.88.0
September 4, 2026
-
•
The button to change plan is gone from your account page: right now there is nothing to change, because the access you have is already complete. If you were looking for it, that is why it is no longer there.
v1.87.0
September 4, 2026
-
•
The Terms of Service, the privacy policy, the cookie page and this changelog are readable now. If your computer or phone was set to dark mode, those four pages came out half light and half dark, with the text almost invisible against the background.
-
•
They also read like documents now: section headings stand apart from the text, paragraphs have room to breathe, and lists have their bullets back. Before, it was one solid wall.
-
•
You can leave those pages from the top or from the bottom, with a button. And it works even when you got there from a bookmark or from a link in an email: until now, in that case, the back control did nothing and you stayed put.
-
•
There is also the back-to-top arrow, the same one Grammar and Journal have. All four pages need it: they are long, and the changelog gets longer with every release.
v1.86.0
September 4, 2026
-
•
When you sign up, and in the welcome email, you now read what actually holds: today access is free and complete. No stated duration and no countdown — and if that ever changes, you will know in advance.
-
•
On the page you see before signing up, the language switch moved to the top, next to the name: if you don't read Italian you no longer have to scroll the whole page to find it, and you can now see which of the two you are reading.
-
•
On that same page, the small labels above each section are readable now: they were too light and too small.
v1.85.0
September 3, 2026
-
•
The page you see before signing up has been rewritten from scratch: it no longer lists the app's features — it describes the problem it solves, studying scattered across too many places, and what actually changes if you use it.
-
•
The "Beta" badge is gone: the app hasn't been one for a while. In its place, what's actually true — that it's under continuous development, and that today it's free with no stated end date.
-
•
There's also who built it, in their own words, and why: not a method, an annoyance — studying in six different places that never talked to each other.
v1.84.0
September 3, 2026
-
•
If you try to save a grammar note, a journal entry or a reading text without writing the content, we now tell you straight away, with a message naming the field that is missing. Before, nobody told you: the save went ahead anyway and landed among your "unsynced changes" as a failed entry, which you then had to discard by hand.
-
•
That panel now says one thing only: something has not reached the server yet. If you find an entry in it, it is a network problem — not a field left empty.
-
•
What you wrote stays where it is and is not lost: the message appears, you fill in the missing field and save. Offline nothing changes — a complete note still goes into the queue and leaves on its own as soon as the network is back.
v1.82.0
September 3, 2026
-
•
To add a site to your reading sources you can now just paste the site's address: we will find the feed. Before, you had to know the exact address of the article list — the one ending in "/feed", which almost nobody knows by heart — and pasting the normal address brought back nothing.
-
•
When we find it we tell you, naming the address we are adding: so next time you already know that pasting the site is enough.
-
•
If you already know the feed's direct address, it keeps working exactly as before. And for sites that expose no list at all — or for a single article page — the usual route is still there: that one text is extracted and you read it.
v1.78.0
September 3, 2026
-
•
The ready-made content columns — starter grammar notes and starter decks — now stay where they belong instead of stretching the page. On a computer they scroll inside themselves and stay put while you scroll your own material; on a phone they became a strip you swipe sideways, so your own notes and decks are right underneath again instead of sitting at the end of a catalogue. It was needed: ready-made content is going from a handful of entries to several dozen.
-
•
Recommended resources now remember which ones you have already taken. The "added" label used to vanish on the first page reload, and the same resource could be added twice without noticing: now it stays, because the app knows what is already in your project.
-
•
The same arrives in Reading Mode, where it did not exist at all. A resource is marked when the text is actually saved, not when you open the preview: close the preview without saving and the article stays there to be read.
v1.77.0
September 2, 2026
-
•
Recordings kept on Google Drive can now be played back from an iPhone or iPad too. They were saved correctly, but pressing play only got you an "error" — while the same recording played perfectly on a computer. The reason: before playing audio, Safari asks to receive it a piece at a time, and our page only knew how to hand it over whole. Now it can do both.
-
•
Anyone listening from a computer will notice no difference, and recordings kept on the site itself were untouched: those already worked.
v1.76.0
September 2, 2026
-
•
A recording saved on an iPad now really gets through. This was the last layer of a defect that kept us busy for days: the file was saved on the device, it played back, it looked intact — and it was — but the moment it left for the server its content did not leave with it, and the save was lost with nothing saying so. Now, before sending, the app rebuilds the file from its own bytes: the same recording, in a parcel the server can open.
-
•
This holds for any queued file, not just audio, and on any device. Recordings left stuck in the queue over the past days also go off by themselves at the first successful save: there is nothing to redo by hand.
v1.75.0
September 2, 2026
-
•
When you save something, the app now tells you what actually happened. Before, it reloaded the page an instant after taking the save in charge — declaring successful something that had not happened yet, and wiping out any error message before you could read it. Now there are three different answers: done, not done (and the page stays as it is, with the error on screen), or still in progress.
-
•
A save that gets no answer no longer blocks all the others. A request that stays unanswered is now given up after a time limit and retried: before it hung forever, and everything you saved afterwards never got its turn — for days, with nothing saying so.
-
•
And after a run of failed attempts the app stops retrying on its own and tells you, instead of retrying forever, quietly eating network and battery.
-
•
The unsynced-changes badge and the list you get by clicking it now say the same thing. Before, the number could say two changes pending while the list was empty: now every queued change has its own row, with its state next to it — waiting, in progress, failed — along with when it was created, how many attempts it made and what the last error was.
-
•
From those rows you can retry or discard any stuck change, not just the ones already marked as failed: that is the case where it was actually needed. When discarding, the confirmation tells you what you are about to lose — the title and the size of the file — because a queued recording only exists on that device.
-
•
Saving with no connection keeps working exactly as before: the change is queued, we tell you so, and it goes off by itself when you are back online.
v1.74.0
September 2, 2026
-
•
Voice recording really works on iPad and iPhone now. In the previous version we fixed the right thing at the wrong moment: the app asked the recorder which format it was producing an instant after starting, when on these devices the answer does not exist yet — so it fell back on the same old assumption. Now it asks once the recording is finished, and before that it reads the format from the audio itself, which carries it.
-
•
If you record on an iPad and the preview plays, everything else follows: it saves, it plays back even after reloading the page, and a recording made on your phone opens on your computer.
v1.73.0
September 2, 2026
-
•
Voice recording works on iPad and iPhone. Before, you gave the microphone permission, recorded, and on stopping the player said «error»: the file was fine, but the app described it as a format it was not — on iPhone and iPad the microphone produces a different format from the one on a computer, and nobody had ever asked. Now the app asks the recorder what it actually produced instead of assuming.
-
•
This applies to all three places where you can record: the Voice section, the Media Tracker while following a piece of content, and the reader while reading aloud.
-
•
The format is stored together with the recording rather than guessed each time: a recording made on your phone plays back on your computer and the other way round, months later too, and also when it lives in your Google Drive.
v1.70.0
September 1, 2026
-
•
Grammar is now something you practise, not just something you read. Ready-made rules can come with their own deck of exercises — sentences with one gap to fill — and under the rule there is now a button that takes you into the deck, showing how many cards are due today. Reviewing works like the flashcards you already know: you flip the card and see whether you were right.
-
•
Adding a ready-made rule is a single action: the explanation and its exercises arrive together, and the message tells you how many there are and which deck they went into. If you had already added that deck yourself it is not duplicated, and the app says so. In the ready-made notes column, before you press, you can now see how many exercises are coming.
-
•
If a rule has no exercises — or if you deleted its deck — nothing appears under the rule and nothing is suggested again: if you deleted it, you had decided.
v1.69.0
September 1, 2026
-
•
In the Media Tracker you can create your first deck while writing the card. If the project has none yet, the empty menu is replaced by a field to name the deck: you create it right there, and the card you just wrote goes straight into it — no retyping. Before, the app asked you to choose from a list that contained nothing.
-
•
While reading a PDF you can create a card by writing it. The page controls now include «Write a card»: front, back and notes, typed by you. Text inside a PDF cannot be selected — it is a drawing, not a word — so the dictionary and the selection tool stay out, but the card does not: that one you can still make.
-
•
And from there too, if the project has no decks, it lets you create one on the spot: same window, same solution in both places, not two different ways of doing the same thing.
v1.68.0
September 1, 2026
-
•
On a phone the study page no longer scrolls sideways. The deck header — back to decks, the name, edit, auto-play and the counters — sat on a single row that at 375px asked for 507 pixels against the 370 available: it now wraps, and from tablet width up it is exactly as it was.
-
•
In the PDF reader you can type the page number. The number between the two arrows is now a field: type 143, press Enter and you are there — before, the only way was pressing the arrow 142 times. The arrows stay and keep updating the field, phones get the numeric keypad, and if you type a page that does not exist the field shows you where you actually landed.
-
•
In the admin panel the PHP extension list finally tells the truth. «zip» is no longer reported as missing: it is not a requirement, because exporting notes and journal has always had a pure-PHP fallback that works without it — it now sits among the recommended ones, with the reason written next to it. And «gd» is gone entirely: not a single line of the application uses it, so it was neither required nor worth recommending, just a red cross that meant nothing. Two false alarms fewer: those are the ones that teach you to ignore the real ones too.
v1.67.0
August 30, 2026
-
•
Challenges now end. When you reach the last day the challenge closes by itself: before it stayed «in progress» forever, and the only way to start another one was to press «Abandon» — that is, to declare you had given up on a challenge you had actually finished.
-
•
At the end you get a box telling you how it went: which challenge, the days you closed, your longest streak and the date. Below it are the other challenges, which at that point are the right question: what comes next.
-
•
Reaching the end is enough: there is no score and no threshold to clear. How well it went is told by your own numbers, not by a verdict.
-
•
The annual activity map is gone from the Challenges page: it was the same one you find in Statistics, and on a phone it made the page scroll sideways.
v1.66.1
August 30, 2026
-
•
Admin panel actions can no longer half-succeed: either the action and its log entry both happen, or nothing does. Before, changing a role, resetting a trial, turning maintenance on or purging expired accounts could already have happened while whoever pressed the button was reading an error.
-
•
And the admin action log now really exists: the two tables that hold it were not created by any installation, so online those two panel sections have always been empty.
v1.66.0
August 30, 2026
-
•
You now choose the light or dark theme while signing up, next to the language, and the page changes colour straight away so you can see what you are picking. Before, every account was created dark: signing up on a light page landed you on a dark first dashboard you never asked for.
-
•
And if you leave that control alone, you still get the theme you were already looking at. You can change it whenever you like from your Account, as always.
-
•
The security check box now holds its space from the start: before, it appeared once you had begun filling the form and pushed the button down just as you were about to press it. And if you sit still long enough for it to expire, it now renews itself instead of making the sign-up fail.
v1.65.0
August 30, 2026
-
•
Every section now says what it is for, in a line under its title: journal, grammar, media, reader, voice, challenges and decks.
-
•
And when a section is empty it no longer just states the fact: it explains how to start and where, every time it is empty — including when it becomes empty again after you delete everything.
v1.64.0
August 29, 2026
-
•
Signing up is now a single screen instead of a five-step path: name, email, password, the interface language and the two consents, and you are in.
-
•
You no longer pick the languages you want to study while signing up: you create your first project inside the app, where you can see what a project is, choose among nine languages and change your mind.
v1.63.3
August 29, 2026
-
•
Signing up with a browser set to Italian now comes with Italian already chosen as the interface language: before, English arrived preselected after five screens in Italian, and projects were created with English titles. And when you pick the other language, it is now clear which of the two is selected.
v1.63.2
August 29, 2026
-
•
If your browser does not allow preferences to be remembered locally — as in a private window — card study and the quick card creation from media keep working: before, the study page came up with no cards and the quick card neither opened nor saved.
v1.63.1
August 29, 2026
-
•
The light or dark theme you choose in your account now applies on every device: before, a browser could put the old one back when you reopened the app elsewhere. And changing the theme is now saved even when the browser does not allow remembering it locally — in a private window, for instance.
v1.63.0
August 29, 2026
-
•
You can finally read what's new: there is now a dedicated page, reachable from the footer even without signing in, and a discreet mark tells you when there is something you haven't read yet.
v1.62.0
August 29, 2026
-
•
A correction's note now appears in a single box instead of two side-by-side copies: you read it when it is there, you write it when you need to, and the command to edit it is the same one you use for the correction itself. The request to delete a journal entry no longer speaks English on an Italian interface.
v1.61.0
August 29, 2026
-
•
Journal corrections are now shown side by side, sentence by sentence: on the left what you wrote, on the right how it should read, with only the changes highlighted — including in Japanese and Chinese, where the whole sentence used to come out marked as rewritten. You write the correction on the page instead of in a small window, and a button prepares the text to have it corrected by an AI.
v1.60.0
August 29, 2026
-
•
Journal entries are now written on a full-screen page with an address of its own, and alongside the text you can keep open the dictionary, the Markdown guide and your own grammar notes, with search.
